New York- Exxon Mobil Corp said that they will be giving assistance to same sex married couples in the US last Friday. The benefits which includes financial assistance will start next week, hence applicants are asked to pass the exam and family back ground inspection to make it sure that they will qualify for the program.
Aside from financial assistance, the qualified legal couple will also gain free insurance. This means that if a gay will marry a man in a state in which same sex marriage is allowed, Exxon Mobil Corp will automatically qualify them for the said benefit this coming October 1 this year.
"We want to give chance to same sex married couple because we believe in equal rights", Allan Jeffers, Exxon Spoke man said.
He added that they've been supporting legal same sex married couple since last year in Illinois, hence they earned negative feedback. But they are confident that they are doing the right thing, hence they establish the said beneficial program.
In addition, Exxon is accused with discrimination with one of their gay employer, despite of the fact that they are supporting same sex marriage.
Ticol Almeida, founder and President of Freedom Work for gays said that Exxon is a shame due to what they did to their gay employee.
The said beneficial program is available in 30 countries all over the world. "We are doing this because we want to show to the public that we are not anti gay, but rather we support equal rights", Jeffers said.
Jeffers added that still, they are following what the federal definition's criteria says, so they expect that there will be no complication that will occur.
As of the moment Exxon, is currently searching for the qualified beneficial program.
