Starring Justin Timberlake as Princeton University student Richie Furst who is duped of his tuition money by a game on online poker, Runner, Runner is being described by critics as merely an updated version of "Wall Street," involving a veteran, a protégé, and a hot girl thrown in there somewhere.

The hot girl in question is ex-Bond girl Gemma Arterton, who plays second-in-command Rebecca, to Ben Affleck's mastermind Ivan Block, who hosts the poker game site in a reclusive island location. When Richie goes to the island to confront him about the money he lost, Ivan instead hires him and Richie gets so embroiled in the online gambling game until he decides he's in a dangerous position and tries turning the tables on his boss.

What do critics think about Runner, Runner? They think it's so bland not even the sex scene between Rebecca and Richie can fix it.

"The film doesn't work because there's nothing new in the manner that this plot unfolds, and there's not much by way of chemistry between Affleck and Timberlake's characters either. What you do get is lots of gambling jargon, and a by-the-number screenplay," says one online review.

Another review then goes on to praise one of the supporting characters  named Fed who  they say is the only source of humor, "I love [screwing] over Princeton guys," he growls to Richie at one point, " 'cause I went to Rutgers."

"That's it - that's the best line."

For Justin Timberlake's fans of course, Runner, Runner is a must-watch. Meanwhile, Batman fans are up and about, surveying Ben Affleck' recent performances in order to forecast his skill at playing the mysterious Bruce Wayne. And the forecast does not seem too sunny.
