The hearing that went on due to Alex Rodriguez' 211 game suspension is not the last time that the player and the league will meet in court. It is, in fact, only the first.

The player fired back at the league last Thursday and filed a lawsuit in the New York State Supreme Court. His case alleges that the league and Bud Selig, the commissioner had a united goal in mind and that was to "to improperly marshal evidence that they hope to use to destroy the reputation and career of Alex Rodriguez." The suit also wants punitive and compensatory damages to be determined at trial.

Rodriguez then filed another lawsuit come Friday night. This time, he filed it against the New York Yankee's doctor Chris Amad, as well as the New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. His complaints included malpractice and alleges that his left injury that occurred during the 2012 playoffs was a misdiagnosis. Rodriguez and his legal team are saying that the doctor did not tell Rodriguez about the MRI that showed his injury. He is seeking damages.

The hospital has declined to comment pending litigation.

The MLB has chosen to issue a statement regarding Rodriguez' lawsuit. They have denied all allegations in the complaint and presses on to say that the suit was in no way relevant to the real issue at hand, which was Rodriguez' alleged violation of the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Rodriguez apparently used and possessed numerous performance-enhancing substances in the course of many years. He has also apparently violated his basic agreement with the league and is attempting to cover up his violations by bringing up other issues.

Alex Rodriguez issued a statement of his own, where he thanks his supporters and Hispanics all over the world, and especially in New York City.
