DUBLIN, Ohio- Golfer Zach Johnson was doing rather well in the President's cup, having secured the 17th point and retention, with six remaining matches to play on Sunday. However, despite his best efforts, things still looked pretty bleak for the Americans.

When it seemed like all hope was lost, Tiger Woods showed up and ultimately saved the day.

Woods seemed very relaxed from the time the tournament started, and seemed to easily ease in his partnership with Matt Kuchar. Kuchar marks as the 19th player that Woods has been paired with in different golfing competitions through the years. With Kuchar by his side, Woods managed to overcome his troubled back and even managed to get the ball in the final hole with 2 putts, enough not only to beat leader Richard Stern, but also give the Americans their eighth victory ever since the President's Cup started ten years ago. The Americans have been successful at winning the last five matches and currently lead the series at 8-1-1.

This is the third consecutive President's Cup that has had Woods earn the key winning point. In this year's tournament, Woods contributed 4 points, beating out all players. Woods has emerged as a winner of five different tournaments this year. He erases any bad memories from last year's Ryder cup, where he basically choked, affecting the US team's lead, and giving the final victory to the European team.

Woods has said that the victory means a lot to him, especially as it was an opportunity to win a title for Freddie Couples, as well as all his other teammates. Wood's back apparently started to bother him in hole number 14, but he played one. Woods has also said that after the President's Cup, he's looking forward to not touching his golf clubs for a little while.
