After Apple's quite successful launching of its iPhone 5s that comes with Biometric security through its Touch ID scanner, it seems that HTC will be following its footsteps as its upcoming HTC One Max has been leaked to have a fingerprint scanning technology of its own.

Based on the leaked images from the Chinese social network Sina Weibo, the rather huge 5.9-incher HTC One Max will be having its own fingerprint scanner. But unlike Apple's iPhone 5s, which has its Touch ID sensor embedded in the home button in front, One Max's scanner is situated at the back of the phone, in between the camera and the device's sim slot.

Such positioning simply suggests that while Apple iPhone 5s users are using their thumb to unlike their devices, One Max users will be resorting to tapping the fingerprint scanner using their forefingers.

Apple's Touch ID scanner was specially made by its recently bought security company AuthenTec for $356 million. On the other hand, we are still not sure where HTC got its advanced security technology from.

Nevertheless, a Verizon retail staff, who has undergone training sessions and has used the soon-to-be released HTC giant, had already confirmed to The Verge that indeed the HTC One Max will come with a fingerprint scanner.

The retail staff however has not mentioned whether the sensor works just as smooth and as fast as Apple's iPhone 5s Touch ID scanner.

For those, who are still unaware of this technology, Apple's Touch ID scanner works as a security unlock feature that gives access only to authorized persons, in this case to the phone's owner. Moreover, it can also be used to authorize purchases in iTunes and other transactions directed towards Apple.

As of late, HTC has not confirmed the existence of the leaked One Max fingerprint scanner, but it seems that if it does, it would basically be designed to carry out similar tasks.

HTC One Max is expected to hit the market this October 15.
