Apple Inc is preparing to unveil new iPad models at a product launch event next week. The hardware company sent out media invitations to the event on October 22.
While Apple was typically scant on details in the invite-featuring the phrase "We still have a lot to cover"-the company is widely expected to reveal new versions of its tablets and Mac personal computers.
The new iPad models are believed to include faster processors and lighter designs. The launch event marks the first iPad upgrade since the launch of the 4th Generation iPad and the iPad Mini last October.
In September, Apple released its latest iPhone updates, the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. The company sold 9 million of the devices the first weekend they were available.
