The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is ready to get back to her royal duties as she appeared alongside athletes in Olympic Park for a charity event.

Ever since she became a part of Prince William's life, Kate Middleton has showed nothing but elegance and grace. This continues just months after giving birth to a healthy baby boy, Prince George. Though it has been said that Kate is a hands-on mom, the Duchess skipped some hours of caring for Prince George when she took on her first public appearance for SportsAid, one of her charities.

"Kate is devoted to being a mother, however she feels ready to resume some royal duties and will be carrying out a few engagements before Christmas," stated a source close to the royal family in a report posted by The Mirror.

Catherine appeared ready to support her sports charity and appeared with award-winning rower, Katherine Grainger, and disabled basketball star, Ade Adepitan in the said event. Grainger and Adepitan gave talks and lessons to younger athletes about the future of British athleticism.

It is no surprise how busy Catherine is; especially that she is caring for a newborn son. But it did not prevent the Duchess from committing to her royal duties as she understands appearances are a vital obligation for a woman in her stature.

"She understands the impact her appearance can make for her charities and wants to support them. However her programme will, understandably, remain fairly sparse for the immediate future at least," added the source in the same report by The Mirror.

Since giving birth to Prince George, Kate has attended two public appearances with husband, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. Today marks the first time the Duchess attended a royal appearance.
