Miss Universe 2013 Candidates: Meet Miss Philippines Ariella Arida, Miss USA Erin Brady & More Crowd-Favorites!

In a couple of weeks or so the world will witness the crowning of this year's Miss Universe. after last year's successful crowning of Miss Universe 2012: USA's Olivia Culpo, the stage is set for 87 Miss Universe 2013 candidates, each vying for the most coveted crown.
By tradition, all of the Miss Universe 2013 candidates will be judged on a three-round basis: the swimsuit competition, evening gown, and the final interview or the Q&A round.
As early as now however, several of the Miss Universe candidates have definitely made that mark as crowd favorites. And based on the impact they have established in the competition thus far, it is not surprising if one or several of them will bring home the Miss Universe 2013 crown and or the other titles.
After snagging two titles this year, Miss Supranational 2013 (Mutya Johanna Datul) and Miss World 2013 (Megan Lynne Young), the Philippines is out to prove that winning comes in threes (at least for this year maybe). And this year's Miss Universe-Philippines candidate, Ariella Arida, is already a top favorite, known for having the most number of fans as of late.
Miss Universe 2013 crowd favorite No. 1: MISS PHILIPPINES
Ariella Arida was formerly a runway model before she joined Miss Philippines Earth in 2012. Though she didn't manage to bring home the crown that year, 2013 proved to be a lucky year for this University of the Philippines Los Baños Chemistry graduate after she won the Miss Philippines-Universe 2013 title.
Miss Universe 2013 fan-fave candidate, Arida has a passion for outdoor sports, and she aspires to establish a name in the business industry by creating her own fragrance line.
She admits that she has always been a very competitive girl, who is determined to showcase her best efforts to make every endeavor a success.
Miss Universe 2013 crowd favorite No. 2: MISS USA
Another pageant favorite and a strong contender to the crown is Miss USA Erin Brady, who is believed to be the successor of the crown after Culpo. She hails from Connecticut and she is currently a Financial Accountant for Prudential Retirement in Hartford, CT.
A former "Deal or No Deal" briefcase girl, Miss Universe pageant-favorite candidate no. 2 likes to cook and prepare a variety of dishes, go on ski trips, and join marathons.
According to her Miss Universe profile, Brady has this fondness of anything flamingo. She is a self-proclaimed flamingo-inspired items collector, and she claims she even wants to have her own real flamingo someday.
Miss Universe 2013 crowd favorite No. 3: MISS COLOMBIA
Lucia Aldana is the youngest in a family of five children. She dreams of becoming a famous TV show producer and director someday.
Deemed as the silent killer amongst the 87 Miss Universe 2013 candidates, Lucia was born in Cali, Colombia. She was in her final year in Journalism when she decided to join the Miss Colombia pageant in 2012.
If she is to bring home the Miss Universe 2013 crown this year, Lucia will be Colombia's second Miss Universe titleholder, with Luz Marina Zuluaga (1958) as the only titleholder of Colombia as of late.
Miss Universe 2013 crowd favorite No. 4: MISS FRANCE
Miss France, Hinarani de Longeaux, is also one of the top crowd-favorite contenders in this year's competition. Hinarani has an estbalished modeling career in France. She began to model at the age of 17.
France's Miss Universe 2013 candidate is currently working for the SOS Village Enfant, an institution that aims to shelter and provide protection to the orphaned and the abandoned children.
Hinarani enjoys listening to music, playing a variety of sports, and loves traveling to distant places. In her Miss Universe profile, she has shared a beauty tip for women who want to have healthy and beautiful hair: wrapping the hair in a Monio oil mask at least twice a week.
Miss Universe 2013 crowd favorite No.5: MISS CHILE
Maria Jesus Matthei, Chile's Miss Universe 2013 candidate, is also among the top favorites in the competition. Matthei is the niece of current presidential candidate Evelyn Matthei.
At present, Matthei is a Fashion Design and Textiles student at the Universidad del Pacifico in Santiago, Chile while at the same time doing part-time modeling on the side.
Chile's Miss Universe 2013 candidate dreams of designing her own fashion line someday and she says that she would like to help young models achieve their dreams in the fashion industry.
Matthei has lived in seven different cities thus far and she claims that she has a deep understanding of culture diversity.
The most prestigious beauty pageant, Miss Universe 2013, will be held for the first time ever in Moscow, Russia this coming November 9, specifically at Moscow's Crocus City Hall.
"This will be one of the biggest and most beautiful Miss Universe events ever. It is only fitting that the world's most iconic and premier beauty contest will take place in Russia's most premier venue, Crocus City Hall," Owner of Miss Universe Organization Donald Trump said in June.
The 87 Miss UNiverse 2013 candidates will battle it out for the preliminary competitions on November 5. Meanwhile, the pageant's finale will take place on November 9.
America's Got Talent judge Melanie Brown (Mel B of the Spice Girls) and MSNBC LIVE host Thomas Roberts will host the 62nd Annual Miss Universe Competition.
