A controversial Filipino DJ has spoken against Ariella Arida, his country's bet for this year's Miss Universe pageant, after Arida commented that "Latina's can't complete a sentence" in an ANC interview  before leaving for Moscow.

Everybody seems to be excited for the November 9 coronation night, but Miss Philippines is bagging controversy into the contest. When Ariella Arida appeared for an interview with ANC's Karen Davila, Twitter users sent in questions for the beauty queen. One fan sent in the question, "Is this our Miss Universe? I think she's having a hard time speaking in English." Arida defended herself with the constant criticism targeted towards her poor communication skills and reacted that it's "all about self-expression" in the pageant. She added,

"Especially, you know, Latinas cannot even speak a sentence, right? I mean, a complete sentence in English... You know, I think, it's the Filipinos who are very critical about this," in her ANC interview.

A Filipino DJ who now resides in New York did not take the comment lightly, saying that what Ariella Arida muttered out is highly offensive.

"I don't intend to bash on our Ms Philippines here but how the [expletive] is this not considered offensive toward Latinas?" posted Mo Twister in his Twitter and Instagram accounts

Named Mohan Bumatay in real life, the DJ went on to engage in an "Instagram war" between some supporters of the beauty queen. Mo further explained himself in videos and captions that go along with his Instagram post. He went on explaining how "sensitive" Filipinos are with comments like these, and yet the lady representing the nation didn't become so careful on national TV.

"I mean, we ALWAYS get so sensitive when someone says anything about us Filipinos (see Dan Brown, Alec Baldwin, and every other time we screamed murder) yet our girl representing our country, in a legit interview regarding the competition, says Latinas can't put a sentence together in English.  That would royally piss me off if I were of Latin descent. I'm pretty sure we would lose our minds if we heard an interview of a contestant saying 'Filipinos can't string a sentence together' and our Senator/Congressman would persona non grata that b*tch immediately." continued the DJ in his Instagram rant.

"Quite certain that a few of the Latina contestants can cook up a few intelligible lines in English that would leave Ariella here dizzy in her heels. Best of luck to her in the competition." added Mo Twister.

Will this affect Ariella's performance in the pageant?
