NPR host Scott Simon moved the interview toward the subject of where Perry stands in today's pop market and Perry explained she sees herself as having become a role model to today's youth , before bringing up the issue of pop nudity.Saying She like females in pop, but everyone is getting naked. She admitted to getting naked before, most notably in her video for California Girls, but she feels like she doesn't have to get naked to get noticed. No word on if this Statement was made while she was wearing the kind of cleavage heavy top that got her segment on Sesame Street yanked off the air, and she later parody is an even more breast bouncing top on Saturday Night Live.

Scott Simon asked if there was any artist in particular that Perry might be directing these comment towards and Katy said it was all of them. She went on to say that they should put it away . She added that everyone knows what they have got ,she has it too and admitted it was nice to play that card once and a while but they should play other cards as well because she doesn't always have to use that card. She also tried to smooth the waters slightly by saying she wasn't being judgmental.

The interview also brought up the fact that Perry went from being marketed as a Christian artist. along the lines of Amy Grant to kissing about tasting another girl's cherry lipstick. Perry admitted at one time she was not even allowed to say deviled eggs and called them angel eggs instead, but despite this upbringing grew up into who she was supposed to be. It was not reported as to if Miley Cyrus was or was not supposed to grow up to be a famous twerker. But it can be assumed that Cyrus was one of the artists who should put it away, after releasing a nudity filled video for the song Wrecking Ball.
