An obese Florida man named George Jolicoeur was spared from jail time because he is too fat. The Obese man was arrested for scamming a number of restaurants, but now he doesn't need any alibi to save him from incarceration as prosecutors are now considering to set him free on account of his very obese form.
According to a New York Daily News report, Jolicoeur was arrested in 2007 for scamming several restaurants.
The Orlando Sentinel stated that the obese Florida man was offered a plea deal after prosecutors and authorities discovered that it would be too expensive to send the 600-pound man into prison.
Jolicoeur was reportedly famous for ordering several menus and he would avoid the bill by claiming that the food did not taste good or even complaining about the quality on how it was served.
In one account, he was said to have ordered five milk shakes but refused to pay the bill when he complained about finding a hair in his fifth shake.
He was only arrested in 2007, after downing nearly $50 of beef jerky from a 7-Eleven, then claiming that the rest were pretty moldy.
On his way to prison he even said, "The beef jerky got me."
However, after being charged with five counts of felony petty theft, the obese Florida man became ill and bedridden.
As of late, he is residing in a nursing facility, where a respirator is used to sustain his breathe.
Because of this, prosecutors anticipated the medical expenses the facility would incur, so they decided to offer a plea deal.
