After last week's "The Romance Resonance," where we saw Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) genius dramatically fail him for the first time, it seems that he and the entire geeky gang has moved on. This week, Sheldon will be more than pleased to have a run-in with his and Leonard's favorite professor, Professor Proton (returning star Bob Newhart). However, Sheldon wouldn't feel that much delighted when he finds out that his beloved professor has turned to Leonard (Johnny Galecki) for some scientific advice and not from him. He's genius ego will be crushed but will quickly recover once he figures out a plan that will put his now ex-favorite professor to shame. He enlists the help of real-life TV scientist Bill Nye in realizing his goal. But Sheldon must have forgotten how serious Professor Proton can get when his mind and wits are challenged by another brilliant mind.
