Paul Walker Dead at 40: Fast and the Furious Star Dies in Fiery Car Accident (Video + Photo)

Hollywood actor Paul Walker, died in a car accident Saturday, November 30 when the Porsche GT driven by his friend smashed directly into a pole and burst to flames.

The Fast and the Furious star was at his charity event for Reach Out Worldwide for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. He and his friend, former race car driver and Walker's financial adviser Roger Rodas, 38, decided to take the red Porsche Carrera out for a spin until Rodas lost control of the vehicle. Both were known to be really close and have collaborated on different projects.

Guests who saw and heard the accident rushed to the scene and tried to put the flames out with extinguishers but it was already too late.

Rodas has helped Paul Walker start his charity Reach Out Worldwide before starting his own to help orphans in his native country, El Salvador

Initially there was some confusion about Paul Walker's death among fans on the internet as it was initially believed to be a hoax as there are common rumors spread around the internet about a celebrity's death.

But, Walker's publicist, Ame Van Iden confirmed in an email of the actor's passing.

Also, an updated message was posted on Walker's official Facebook page:

'It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.'

 Both Walker and Rodas were pronounced dead at the scene. Walker is survived by 15-yr old daughter, Meadow, who moved to California to live closer to him.
