An Amish buggy accident killed a mother and her daughter when a full-speed truck accidentally smashed the back of their horse-drawn buggy at around 4:20 p.m. Saturday in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, WebProNews reported Sunday.

According to authorities, the mother identified as Mary and her 11-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the scene of the Amish buggy accident, which specifically happened at the Pulaski Mercer Road, close to the intersection of Angela Road.

Mercer County coroner Brad McGonigle pronounced the death of the two at the scene. Meanwhile, Mary's son William Byler, 35, who was driving the buggy during the time of the accident was rushed to Saint Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. He is currently in critical condition according to a hospital spokesperson.

As of the horse that drove the buggy, it was euthanized by officials because of the severe injuries it obtained.

Reports state that Pennsylvania State Police identified that William Byler was directing the buggy when the truck driven by Matthew Coulter, 36, accidentally smashed the back of the moving buggy. It was Coulter who prompted the 911 officials of the accident.

No charges have been pressed as of late.
