In a brave move, British Olympic diver Tom Daley took to Youtube to confess something personal. In the video, Daley tells the public that he is in a gay relationship.

Tom Daley is the first British Olympian athlete to come out to the public. He tells the audience that he still finds women attractive but that he is currently with a guy and is happier than ever. Daley continues to tell everyone that he was surprised by his choice in partners but was always acutely aware of the possibility.

The London 2012 bronze medalist also says that the whole experience has been life-changing. One proud supporter, Lord John Browne, considers Tom Daley as a courageous young man urging the public to get behind the young diver's proclamation.

Lord John Browne was the former chief executive of British Petroleum before he resigned in 2007. His resignation came on the heels of his own coming out. After it was revealed that Lord Browne was having a relationship with another man, he tendered his resignation and left his job at BP.

He continues by saying that he is very proud of Daley and hopes his video would inspire other young people to accept and be more open about their sexuality.

Tom Daley says in the video that his mother is supportive of his lifestyle,  but there had been mixed reactions from friends and other members of his family when he told them about his plan. He explains that a lot of his closest confidants didn't believe it or didn't want him to use the very public forum fearing repercussions.

He wanted to use the popular video site to put a definitive end to the rumors about his sexuality and come clean. Daley ends by saying he is very determined to bring home a gold medal in the Rio Olympic games in 2016.
