Caroline Berg Eriksen has stirred up online debate after posting an Instagram photo of her flat and toned body three days after giving birth. The image sparked controversy from women saying that the image is degrading to other new moms.
The Norwegian fitness blogger came under fire for posting a photo of her flat tummy with people criticizing her decision to post the selfie online. Caroline Berg Eriksen defends her actions saying that she did not intend to upset other mothers with her photo. She insists that the intention behind her photo was to express her joy after overcoming the difficult process of pregnancy.
Caroline Berg Eriksen was blasted by comments judging her photo as provocative and insensitive. The football wife is seen in red and black lingerie and sporting an impressive figure after only a few days of giving birth. Her husband and Premier League player, Lars-Kristian Eriksen, comes to her defense pointing out that people discussing how a woman's body should look after pregnancy are those spreading negative body image and not women like his wife.
26-year-old Caroline Berg Eriksen hopes that all women would be proud of their bodies regardless of their appearance after giving birth.
Maria Kang is another fitness blogger and mom who was attacked for photos of her body. She posted a picture of herself in a workout bra and micro shorts showing off her toned figure with her three children and the slogan "What's your excuse?" She quickly became the subject of heated arguments and intense debate about the image promoting "fat shaming". Many people who saw her post regard it as an attack against women who do not look a certain way. Kang rebukes the negative comments saying that her post was meant to inspire other moms to take control of their body and not insult those who did not possess a body like hers.
