Lamar Odom has been surviving a really rough time in his life lately what with rumors of him battling a drug addiction as well as a closely watched marriage with reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian, his latest DUI arrest is just the tip of the iceberg. The athlete has now pleaded no contest to his most up-to-date drunk-driving charge.
In exchange, he has been given 36 months of probation, $1,814 in fines as well as a mandatory alcohol education program by 9th of June next year according to E! News. Lamar Odom was arrested August of this year when he was spotted driving in an erratic manner. Unable to complete a field sobriety test and refusing to comply with a chemical test, his license was confiscated as well as taken to be detained. However, Lamar Odom was released the following morning after posting $15,000 bond.
No doubt this will hurt his chances of being signed by either the Lakers of the Clippers, two teams that have been in talks of signing in the free agent. At this time, the LA Times reports that the Lakers are more interested in Lamar Odom's well being than having him on the team. They also have a full roster so it might be hard to fit in the troubled athlete.
As for his marriage to the youngest of the three Kardashian sisters, sources say that Khloe is not in any hurry to put a deciding vote on whether or not they will put an end to their marriage. She has been supportive and encouraging with regards to Lamar Odom getting help in terms of his career and health
If Odom can pump the breaks on what looks like a downward spiral, there might be a chance to resurrect both his career and his own marriage.
