Adam Sandler has proven himself again, at least for being the most 'overpaid' actor this 2013, but Forbes doesn't stop there at all. The famous US business magazine has come up with a whole list of the top 10 most overpaid actors in Hollywood, and you'll be surprised to find out who they are.
For starters, being tagged as an 'overpaid' actor simply means that one gets really high upfront fees but only delivers "middling returns." And based on Forbes study for this list, the 47-year-old 'Jack & Jill' star is the most 'overpaid' in Hollywood for his estimated return average of $3.40 for every $1 his last three films spent on him.
Forbes even cited 'That's My Boy' as one of the proofs that Sandler, who is recently a victim of a viral death hoax, is indeed an overpaid actor. For the said movie, the estimated budget was at $70 million but the returns were not as good as producers projected it to be with only $57 million collated from its worldwide screening.
It can be noted that Eddie Murphy topped the Forbes list of most 'overpaid' actors last year for returning an average of $2.30 for every dollar, but Sandler proved to be worse.
Top two is not at all that shocking, as this former Grey's Anatomy star, Katherine Heigl, is said to be one of the worst actresses to work with as well. Heigl was listed on second place because she was only able to return an average of $3.50 for each dollar she got paid for.
Then, on third place is the 'This Means War' lead actress, Reese Witherspoon with an average return of $3.90 for each dollar she earned.
Nicolas Cage is definitely far from landing this list in the previous years, but 2013 is somehow his worst as of late, for he only obtained an average return of $6 while Kevin James lands fifth with a returning average of $6.10.
Surprisingly, Denzel Washington and Steve Carrell also secured the 6th and 7th spots respectively on this list. Washington got an averaging return of $8.30 while Carrell managed to reach the $10 mark.
For the 8th and 9th spots, it's a tie between Jennifer Aniston and Matt Damon, who each got an average return of $6.10 for every dollar he movie spent.
Finally, after his Green Lantern stint, Ryan Reynolds might need extra superpowers to get away from the top 10 list of overpaid actors for his returning average of $10.70 for each dollar.
Forbes has come up with this list based on the three recent films of the actor, he has starred In the past three years. The US business magazine also specified that Adam Sandler's hit comedy "Grown Ups 2" was not counted since it was released in July and the study officially ended in June 1, 2013.
