In Bangkok, Thailand, there are more than 700,000 people who downloaded a mobile application that mimics the sound of a whistle - the symbol of the "the whistle-blowing campaign against Yingluck Shinawatra, the Country's Prime Minister, according to MSN News.

"Nok Weed," is the name of the new app. It means whistle in Thai. The new app allows users to choose the color of their whistle. Users can adjust its volume and only need to tap the screen to sound it off, the reports said.

In the world of apps, Nok Weed doesn't present much use, but according to Narit Nakphong, Nok Weed's creator, the new app claimed the top spot on Google Play Store's trending list last month since its November 4 debut. According to Google Play Store, majority of downloads came from Thailand, but 1.2 percent of other downloads have come from Egypt. At present, Egypt is experiencing political turmoil since the Arab Spring took place.

"I got the idea from seeing protesters blowing whistles. They blew them so much, they got tired. So I created the app." Narit told MSN News. "Most of the criticism is from people saying the volume is too low. I want to make it as loud as possible without breaking the phones' speakers."

Narit is an independent developer who says that he's working to update and address the main critiques from users.

Thai protesters say they're fed up with the Shinawatras and that Yingluck is just a substitute to former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the current premiere's brother. The Shinawatras are powerful business clans in Thailand and got involved in national politics until Thaksin was deposed in 2006. A coup took place after the former premiere was accused of corruption and abused his power to entrench the Shinawatra family in wealth.
