Christina Aguilera got "The Voice" season five to end with a bang when she and Lady Gaga performed a duet for the first time in television history on Tuesday, December 17.
Rumors of longterm animosity and rivalry between the divas were put to rest when the two shook the stage with Lady Gaga's song, "Do What U Want", before the announcement of the season's winner.
The two powerhouses wore matching lamé outfits and sported similar platinum hairdos during the performance. They also spiced up the number by swigging no doubt expensive champagne while effortlessly belting out the song, supposedly celebrating their newly formed camaraderie.
"I was really excited because The Voice called and wanted me to perform on the finale and I obviously can't refuse," shared Lady Gaga, 27, when asked on the performance. "It's such an amazing show and I said, 'I'll do it, but I want to know if Christina will do it with me."
Christina Aguilera, 33, was happy with the suggestion. She shared that this is the first time they've met and that after hearing that Lady Gaga wanted to collaborate, she had agreed immediately. Aguilera also praised Gaga, calling her an "innovative artist and a risk taker" and continued to share her utmost respect for the singer.
Aguilera could not stop singing Gaga's praises, continuining to describe the "Born This Way" singer as "the most down to earth real person that I've ever met in this business."
"The Voice" judge Christina Aguilera continued to sing her duet partner's praises after the show aired.
The day before the finale, Gaga set aside some time to catch up on the singing competition, even voicing out her enthusiastic support for Jacquie Lee from Team Xtina.
Lee, however, lost to Jamaican powerhouse Tessanne Chin, Adam Levine's contestant.
The two singer's rivalry started in 2008, when Aguilera supposedly made a few seemingly subtle digs at a then newly debuted Lady Gaga. Fans of the two powerhouses fanned the flame through social media but Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga kissed and made up earlier this year.
