Jennifer Lawrence reportedly died early this morning while filming for a new movie in New Zealand. However, it was found out later on that the circulating news was simply another death hoax or a type of prank a notorious site pulls.
According to several reports, Global Associated News published an article stating that actress Jennifer Lawrence had apparently died while filming a movie in New Zealand. The hoax was made believable through statements such as the confirmation of the 'Catching Fire' actress's death by preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officers.
The article even claims that Lawrence fell to her death after slipping and landing on solid ground more than 60 feet from where she was standing on the Kauri Cliffs. The accident allegedly happened at exactly 4:30 a.m. UTC/GMT+12.
Interestingly, the news even included some details that New Zealand has become a famous place for filming Hollywood movies, citing 'The Chronicles of Narnia,' 'King Kong,' and 'The Lord of the Rings' as examples.
Nevertheless, the death hoax became a very effective tool to make an online buzz. People who shared the news on social media such as Facebook and Twitter alarmed many of Jennifer Lawrence's fans. Some even asked whether the news was true or not. On the other hand, others who knew right away that it was fraud complained that people should have been very mindful of what they share online.
