A 21-year-old dying man, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, was given the opportunity to say his last goodbye to his pet dog, Rusty. His dog was reportedly brought to Massachusetts General Hospital for the final visit to the dying man.

Mike Petrosino was diagnosed with terminal cancer. On his death bed, his family decided to bring his dog, Rusty, so he can say his last farewell to his dog that has been with him and his family for a long time now. His family friend later on shared the heart-breaking photo of their final goodbyes. It became viral overnight through Reddit.

"My friend Mike was diagnosed with cancer in the 8th grade," Mike's friend said. "He was given a 3% chance to survive the first year. Two days ago we found out that after 8 years, the amputation of his leg, and four rounds of cancer that there's now nothing that they can do. This picture was taken by his brother yesterday."

"Rusty was very emotional when Mike said his finale goodbye," Mike's brother John told The Blaze adding, "Every time I come home these past two days, he sits near Mike's favorite couch and whines, which is rare from him."

According to Yahoo! News, an online fund for Petrosino's medical bills has raised as much as $7,600.

"I just got back from Mass General and got to say goodbye with a bunch of old friends," the friend, who refused to give his name, added. "He's the bravest guy I've ever met and all he did the entire day was make sure everyone else was okay."
