2014 started off with a fresh new death hoax, the latest one focusing on "Fresh Prince of Bel-air" costars James Avery and Will Smith.

Will Smith's name has already been entangled with a few internet hoaxes in the past, including the 2012 fake tweet about Trayvon Martin as well as an out-of-context picture of Miley Cyrus Twerkgate.

A recent tweet from a different made-up Will Smith Twitter account, @FreshPrinceWill, has become viral on the internet after news of Smith's "Fresh Prince of Bel-air" costar James Avery's death on New Year's.

The tweet displayed a screenshot of Will Smith's "conversation" with NBC executives regarding the shooting of a new episode of the hit TV series in commemoration of James Avery's passage.

Although it remains unknown whether people actually believed the manufactured photo, the post was retweeted around 115,000 times, about 38% of the its total number of views.

Several fans of the show and of Smith shared their opinion on the issue through Twitter, majority slamming the person who created the fake Smith Twitter account for giving out false information.

Smith has not given a comment regarding the matter. Other costars have refused to share their own opinions as well.

According to BuzzFeed, the Twitter account had obvious warning signs as to its credibility, especially since the account was not verified properly and had only been created the day before posting the incriminating tweet. This was beside the fact that it was unheard of for major television deals to be made and negotiated through Twitter's DM.

Though most are aware of the hoax behind the tweet, many have started asking for a remake of the famous TV show and have even revisited "Fresh Prince of Bel-air" through internet videos.
