Rupert Grint, best known for his "Harry Potter" persona Ron Weasley, confessed that his fear of illegal drugs was further solidified by actor Shia LaBeouf.

Filming seven "Harry Potter" films did not seem to make Grint receptive to escapist realities created by inhaling acid or LSD, with the actor confessing to bearing witness to a scene by Shia LaBeouf that scared him enough to make him swear to never touch drugs in the future.

During the filming of his upcoming film "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman," where Rupert Grint plays the role of an aspiring porn star, the actor witnessed "Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf dropping acid in order to pursue method acting.

The scene had apparently left such a deep impression on Grint that the Harry Potter star vowed he will never do drugs in the future. "He smashed the place up, got naked and kept seeing this owl. If anything will make you not do drugs, it's watching that," shared Grint on his impression of LaBeouf's scene.

Rupert Grint is currently involved in a new project, the theater production of "Mojo." The story of the play, which is set during the 1950's, revolves around the lives of the members of rival gangs in Soho. In the production, Grint will take on the role of Sweet, a gang member famous for dealing uppers and downers.

This is the first production for Grint, who stated in an interview that he would like to follow former "Harry Potter" costar Daniel Radcliffe and take on more roles in theater productions in the future. "It's opened my eyes; I've learned so much," the actor added regarding his plans.

Rupert Grint is one of the nominees for What'sOnStage's London Newcomer of the Year award.

The former child actor has been slowly taking on more daring roles that are a stark contrast to his Ron Weasley beginnings, one of which is a punk-rock legend in Grint's next project "CBGB." In "CBGB," Grint portrays Cheetah Chrome, a former rocker notorious for his extreme drug abuse and insane antics onstage as the lead guitarist for his band, The Dead Boys.
