Jenny McCarthy believes a mother's got to do what a mother's got to do, with the TV show host responding directly to rumors and reports claming that her 11-year-old does not, in fact, have autism.
Reports recently surfaced on the internet saying that "The View" presenter had admitted that her 11-year-old son does not suffer from autism as she had previously announced.
The actress responded to the unfounded claims with a few pointed statements of her own through Twitter.
"Stories circulating online, claiming that I said my son Evan may not have autism after all are blatantly inaccurate and completely ridiculous," the actress stated, adding, "Evan was diagnosed with autism by the Autism Evaluation Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital and was confirmed by the State of California (through their Regional Center)."
Jenny McCarthy's son was tested in a few major institutions specializing in his condition, proof that the diagnosis was more or less accurate.
The actress expressed her feelings through her tweets, adding that she finds the implication about her changing her position on her son's autism was both "irresponsible and inaccurate."
The stories circulating on the web claim to get their information on Jenny McCarthy's "new" Time Magazine interview which was actually published in 2010.
"These stories cite a 'new' Time Magazine interview with me, which was actually published in 2010, that never contained any such statements by me. Continued misrepresentations, such as these, only serve to open wounds of the many families who are courageously dealing with this disorder," stated the famous mother regarding the issue.
The 41-year-old star did not merely express her pain however, as she switched from defense to offense, saying "please know that I am taking every legal measure necessary to set this straight."
