David Copperfield is gearing up to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend, model and designer Chloe Gosselin.

The 57-year-old illusionist revealed his engagement to the 28-year-old supermodel, who is also the mother of Sky, his 3-year-old daughter, while recalling a past romance with Claudia Schiffer that spanned six years in his latest interview with Hello! magazine.

"Oh, that was a long time ago," Copperfield responded to a question regarding his relationship with the supermodel in the 1990s. "Now I'm engaged and in a committed relationship with Chloe in my mind and my heart."

David Copperfield and French designer and model Chloe Gosselin have been together for six years. Gosselin gave birth to Sky, their first child together, in spring of 2010.

"I'm so lucky to have found David," the French designer gushed in the Hello! magazine interview. "There are very few people in the world like him. He's spent more than 30 years at the top of his profession. He's achieved some extraordinary things."

The pair are currently living in Copperfield Bay, an archipelago composed of 11 variously sized islands in the Carribean.

Hollywood A-listers Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz allegedly held their secret wedding on one of the Copperfield Bay islands back in July 2010.

"Because of my work I have the privilege of living in extraordinary places around the world," the 57-year-old magician told the magazine. "And I wanted to recreate the details of those experiences here -- from the water pressure in the shower to the thread count in the towels."

The announcement of their engagement prompted an outpouring of well-wishes and congratulations from fans and friends around the world.

Copperfield and Gosselin did not disclose further details regarding their wedding plans.
