Pope baptized a child of an unmarried couple at the Sistine Chapel, Rome, and last Jan.12.The child was baptized together with 31 other infants, with a traditional Baptism of the Lord Mass, in commemoration to the day Saint John baptized Jesus.
The shop worker women sent a mail at Pope's mailbox at the Vatican, without expecting any reply.
"I addressed the letter simply to Pope Francis, the Vatican and put it in the post. I didn't even send it recorded delivery. I didn't really expect to get a reply but then out of the blue when I was on holiday I had a phone call from him," the woman said.
"The number was from Rome, with a 06 dial code, and as soon as he started speaking I recognized the voice as his," she added.
The woman was so surprise that the Pope phoned her and wishes to speak to her personally, reassuring that someone is worried about me.
The mass took place under the famous painting of Michelangelo, where Pope Francis was elected as the first Non-European pope for over 1600 years.
Pope Francis encourages the priest in different Catholic churches to baptize the children of even unmarried woman so as to pass the Christian faith to their child after birth. For the Pope, those who will refuse can be considered "hypocrite".
The babies are welcomed as member of the church through the ceremony. The Pope poured water on the infants head, pronouncing their names one by one.
Pope told the parents that "faith" is the most wonderful inheritance they can give to their child.
