A Hebrew nun giving birth to a healthy boy is making rounds all over the Internet. For one thing, not only is it surprising for a nun to give birth despite her vow of chastity, but it's also shocking that she chose to name her son after Pope Francis.
Just this Wednesday, a nun gave birth to a healthy boy in the central Italian city of Reiti.
The odd news is currently being linked to a passage from Our Lady of La Sallete which was published in 1879. The passage claims that an "anarchist will be born of a Hebrew nun, a false virgin who will communicate with the old serpent, the master of impurity."
RomanCatholicImperialist reports that the nun is from El Salvador, but it wasn't specified if she is of Hebrew descent.
The nun belongs to a convent near Rieti, which manages an old people's home.
According to local media reports, the nun claims that she never knew she was pregnant until she delivered the baby boy to this world. She claims she was rushed to the hospital believing she had stomach cramps.
"I did not know I was pregnant. I only felt a stomach pain," she told local reporters as quoted by the Ansa news agency.
Her fellow nuns were quite "surprised" by the news that she gave birth for they, too, never knew that she was pregnant.
However, local pastor Don Fabrizio Borrello revealed that the nun who gave birth is planning to take care of her son.
"I guess she's telling the truth when she says she arrived at the hospital unaware of the pregnancy," Borrelio told BBC.
Meanwhile, as if news about her pregnancy weren't shocking enough, many readers who found out that the nun named her son after Pope Francis couldn't help but voice out their thoughts on the issue.
Many claim that it's possible that the current Pope actually sired the boy. The speculation even gained international attention to the city of nearly 47,700 residents.
On the other hand, there are those saying that it's possible that the boy isn't Pope Francis' adding that it's still a shame that the nun got pregnant.
