According to some spoilers on the all-new episode titled "Sharp Teeth," Dean and Sam will learn that Garth is apparently on the hospital. A sneak peek to the episode hints that Garth may have found a "family" when he went missing for a certain period. However, it seems that his family has these supernatural antics. Spoilers even tagged Garth's family as a "family of friendly monsters." However, will they remain that friendly once they find out that the Winchesters are actually hunters? It can be noted that Garth's last appearance in the show was way back in Season 8, when he became the new Bobby Singer. Unfortunately, he suddenly vanished without leaving any note or explanation why. Executive producer Jeremy Carver dished in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that fans will now find out the main reason why Garth left. "Viewers will remember he sort of went AWOL when put in charge of guarding Kevin back in season 8 and we'll answer this question, and I think it will be surprising. And there will be hugs," Carver said.

The official synopsis for Supernatural season 9 episode 12 "Sharp Teeth" reads: "After finding out that Garth is in the hospital, Sam and Dean go to check on him. Still carrying the guilt over Kevin, Dean lays into Garth about disappearing and demands to know where he's been. Garth makes an excuse and then hightails it away from the guys. Confused as to why Garth would run from them, Sam and Dean do some investigating and are stunned by what they find."
