Johnny Depp is dead at the age of 50. That's what several circulating reports claim as of late after one site confirmed the tragic death of the actor following an accident while filming his new movie. The said report gained much traction such that many fans were compelled to believe it. Additionally, they echoed their condolences and sympathy to the actor's family on social media. But it was found out later on that the reports were simply products of a celebrity death hoax-generating site that has victimized countless of stars and Hollywood celebs.

According to Media Mass, Johnny Depp apparently died following a tragic accident. Although the report did not clearly state pertinent details on the alleged death of the multi-awarded actor, it is believed that it got the report from Global Associated News, a site notorious for being the top celebrity death hoax generator. The said site published a write-up this week, claiming that actor Johnny Depp fell to his death while filming a new movie in New Zealand. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star allegedly feel from a very high cliff, leading to his almost instant death.

The report was made believable through certain statements. For example, there is a statement claiming that the death of the actor has been confirmed by local police. Additionally, the time of his death was also confirmed in the report.

Meanwhile, Media Mass picked up what the site published and extended a far-off stretch to what the news has to say. The site added bits and details such as the buzz on social media over an "R.I.P. Jonny Depp" Facebook page. The site noted that the said page got nearly one million of "likes" from the fans of the actor.

The description of the said Facebook page reads: "At about 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday (January 28, 2014), our beloved actor Johnny Depp passed away. Johnny Depp was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

Because of the shocking news alongside the Facebook page, many fans gushed to find out if the actor really died. Good thing, it was proven that the news was simply another celebrity death hoax - a string of false reports claiming the death of famous celebrities and tv personalities - when mainstream sites reported that the actor is currently enjoying some private time with his current girlfriend, Amber Heard.

Interestingly, some shunned the report right away since a very similar one also surfaced way back in 2012. The report back then got a lot of attention such that even famous sites including Hollywood Life concluded that Johnny Depp's death was simply a false statement or a disturbing hoax.

As of late Johnny Depp and his reps have nothing to say about the circulating hoax. Nevertheless, Johnny Depp joins a long list of famous celebs and personalities who reportedly got killed in the said hoaxes. The list includes Celine Dion, Will Smith, Woody Harrelson, Lady Gaga Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, etc.
