Bob Costas' eye problem has obviously worsened during his latest Olympic coverage on Tuesday to the point that the reporter had to take the night off.

Finally taking measures to treat the condition, Bob Costas' eye problem has sparked another wave of controversy among Twitter users.

People were quick to notice that Bob Costas' eye problem had not gone away.

Bob Costas is finally going to take care of that eye issue.

The famed sportscaster announced Tuesday that he will be taking the night off from Olympics coverage and has called in Matt Lauer from “the bullpen” to fill in for him.

"Reluctantly, I was trying to throw a complete game here, but we're going to have to go to the bullpen, and I don't know if you're aware of this tonight, but you're Mariano Rivera, at least tonight,'' Costas told Lauer on “Today.”

The reporter has been soldiering through an eye infection since the beginning of the Sochi games.

Bob Costas' eye problem forced him to appear on camera wearing glasses – which he normally doesn’t – and alerted viewers to his condition.
