The 2014 NBA All-Star Game is right around the corner, and as expected Nike will make waves with their impressive All-Star Game-related shoes today.
Coming out today, February 14, is the "All-Star NOLA Gumbo League Collection" that includes the newest editions of the signature sneaker of superstars Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, LeBron James of the Miami Heat, and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Nike KD VI will hit shelves today in Multi-Color/Green Glow-Black colorway, which is dubbed as the "Illusion" edition of the shoe with some stores listing it as the "All-Star" edition.
This edition of the latest signature shoe of Durant sports a multi-color based upper part with black hints on several areas and green glow outsole, Nike Swoosh, and KD logo.
"Celebrating the magic of KD's versatility, the KD VI Illusion showcases hand-drawn patterns on the upper emulating Durant's fluidity on the court. A glow-in-the-dark outsole also represents the "spark" of KD's game," Nike noted.
This shoe will retail at $150 each pair on a limited basis in select Nike accounts worldwide.
Aside from the latest colorway of the sixth signature sneaker of Durant, also included in this year's Nike All-Star collection is the LeBron 11 "Gator King" edition.
This "All-Star" edition of the LeBron, which is officially listed as the Cashmere/Green Glow-Purple Dynasty colorway, features a purple-based upper part combined with a glow in the dark Armorposite.
According to Nike, this "Gator King" edition of the shoe symbolizes the fearsome alligator that is known as the symbol of protection in New Orleans culture.
"Inspired by the fearsome alligator, the king of the bayou, the LeBron 11 Gator King is a bold expression of royalty and power. Gators, often a symbol of protection in New Orleans culture, influence graphic textures throughout the shoe," Nike noted.
On the other hand, Bryant's latest signature sneaker, the Kobe 9 Elite, will hit shelves in "Maestro" edition.
This All-Star-related edition is listed as the Black/Metallic Gold-White colorway of the shoe, which is also dubbed as the "Devotion" edition. It sports a black-based upper part with unique graphic designs along with a gold Nike Swoosh logo and glow in the dark outsole.
The Nike LeBron 11 "Gator King" will retail at $220, while the Kobe 9 Elite "Maestro" will be available for $225 per pair.
