New York Knicks Rumors: LA Clippers Star Chris Paul Speaks On Rumored Carmelo Anthony For Blake Griffin Trade

Chris Paul would love to play alongside Carmelo Anthony, but the Los Angeles Clippers star point guard thinks that his good friend will not leave the New York Knicks this summer.
In an interview during the 2014 All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, Paul admitted that he is excited over the idea of playing with his good buddy in Los Angeles, but he quickly conceded that the possibility is remote at this point, saying that Anthony is leaning towards re-signing with the Knicks.
"I know he loves it there," Paul said when asked about his thoughts on Anthony's impending free agency, NY Post reported. "His family loves it there. Most of all, he loves to play basketball there. Whatever he does, I'll support him 110 percent."
Previous reports indicated that Anthony is open to making a move to the Clippers in the offseason. The Clippers can't sign Anthony as a free agent outright, but a sign-and-trade deal could bring him to Los Angeles this summer.
Sources said that the Knicks will be amenable to a sign-and-trade deal in the offseason as long as the Clippers would give up star power forward Blake Griffin in the deal. The Clippers will reportedly consider pulling the trigger on a Griffin-for-Anthony trade if they don't win the title this season.
When asked about the possibility of getting traded for Anthony in the offseason, Griffin said that he is not surprised about the rumored trade, but he reiterated that he wants to stay with the Clippers.
"Nothing surprises you anymore after seeing so many rumors going around. You got to brush them off and keep playing," Griffin stressed. "I wouldn't want to leave Los Angeles, of course not. They may have different plans. It's not really up to me. It's up to them. I would never want to leave Los Angeles. But sometimes it's out of your hands."
Anthony also said that he doesn't want to be traded before the deadline or in the offseason, but he sounded like he will be open to a change of scenery if the Knicks organization fails to turn the team into a title contender soon.
"I don't want to be traded," Anthony said. "I came to New York, I said before I wanted to retire here. I said it, meant it. That's how I feel. I still feel strongly about that. That's why at the end of the season, everything has to be laid out, something that we can grow with and build on."
