Downton Abbey's Season 5 release date is drawing even closer now that the hit TV show wraps up the final episode of its latest run.
Producers of the show have hinted earlier this month that Downton Abbey's Season 5 release date in Europe may come around late September, like the TV show's pilot season, while American fans may have to wait until January 2015 to catch it.
Despite the long, excruciating wait brought to us by Downton Abbey's Season 5 release date being in September, fans can look forward to a lot of new faces for the next season.
According to the show's producers, Richard E. Grant will be joining the cast in Downton Abbey Season 5 as Simon Bricker, a guest of the Granthams who visits Downton Abbey. You might recognize Grant from shows such as "Girls" and "Doctor Who."
"Four Weddings and a Funeral" star Anna Chancellor will also make a guest appearance in Season 5 as Lady Anstruther while Rade Sherbedgia from "24" and "Eyes Wide Shut" will take on the role of a Russian refugee.
Fans can also look forward to returning guest cast members Dame Harriet Walter, who plays Lady Shackleton, and Peter Egan as Lord Flintshire.
"We look forward to introducing these new characters to our Masterpiece audience. They will make a wonderful addition to the beloved Downton Abbey ensemble," said Masterpiece executive producer Rebecca Eaton in a statement.
Fans can expect regular cast members Hugh Bonneville, Samantha Bond, Maggie Smith, Penelope Wilton, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, Elizabeth McGovern, Lily James, Allen Leech, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Lesley Nicol, Sophie McShera, Rob James-Collier, Ed Speleers, Kevin Doyle, Raquel Cassidy, David Robb, Tom Cullen, Julian Ovenden, Daisy Lewis, Douglas Reith, Jeremy Swift and Andrew Scarborough in Downton Abbey Season 5's release date around fall this year.
