Brooke Burke Charvet is reportedly the first one to be eliminated in the latest season of "Dancing With The Stars," according to the Washington Post.

Brooke Burke Charvet has been a mainstay in the endlessly popular reality TV show and news of her being replaced with Erin Andrews have sparked controversy in several media outlets and social media sites.

So what's the real deal behind Brooke Burke Charvet getting the boot as "Dancing With The Stars" host?

According to Washington Post, producers may be hoping Brooke Burke Charvet's successor Erin Andrews may improve the show's fluctuating ratings.

With host Brooke Burke Charvet, "Dancing With The Stars" has remained one of the most consistently popular, scandal-free reality TV shows over the past several years. There have been no reported public feuds, no scandals and no unceremonious swapping of co-hosts until this season.

"Good Morning America" confirmed Monday that Erin Andrews will be replacing Burke-Charvet for the latest season of the reality show as co-host, alongside Tom Bergeron who has hosted all 17 seasons.

Brooke Burke-Charvet, a former winner of the show, replaced Samantha Harris in 2010 and has been co-hosting alongside Bergeron for seven seasons.

The former host recently released an official statement to E!, saying she “understand[s] the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture.”

“I’ve seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake," Brooke Burke-Charvet added.
