Dancing With the Stars is now on its 18th season, but the hit show is still up for some fresh ideas and exciting twists to keep their following solid as can be. As the show is now ready to begin its 18th season, DWTS has already announced the personalities who will be contending for the winning title this season.
Dancing With the Stars season 18 is set to begin come March 17 at 8/7c on ABC, and fans will surely enjoy the buffet of famous personalities who will be competing against each other. The show has always been about showcasing one's dancing skills, but this season some things are about to change, and fans will find out really soon if these changes are for the good or not.
According to USA Today, the competitors for Dancing With the Stars season 18 comprise: two Olympic ice dancing medalists, three singers, former child stars, a double amputee snowboarding champ, a distance swimmer, a former pro hockey player, a comedian and a reality star. Looks like we have a favorable variety of personalities this upcoming season.
Meanwhile, the all-new season is said to be very controversial as a lot of changes will make or break this season's ratings. First is of course the fact that Fox Sport's Erin Andrews is replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet in hosting the show alongside Tom Bergeron.
The show is also welcoming a new bandleader, Ray Chew. Harold Wheeler and his team are apparently exiting.
Finally, the major change in the show is that the players will have to switch partners from time to time. "You have to change things every so often to keep them fresh," executive producer Conrad Green said on this new strategy for the show.
