Bruce Willis is dead. At least that's what some of his fans are believing in right now after encountering a report that is circulating online. According to the report, the 'Die Hard' actor died early this week, and a Facebook page was even made in honor of his passing. However, it was found out later on that the report was simply another one of those celebrity death hoaxes victimizing Hollywood celebs and famous TV personalities.
Media Mass reported that Bruce Willis was apparently found dead early this week. The report even claimed that an "R.I.P. Bruce Willis" Facebook page was created in honor of the 'Fifth Element' actor's passing. The page reportedly got almost one million likes from the actor's fans.
The description of the Facebook page reads: "At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (March 10, 2014), our beloved actor Bruce Willis passed away. Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955 in Idar-Oberstein. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."
Many fans allegedly commented on the page, expressing their condolences and sympathy to the Bruce Willis' family and friends. Twittersphere was also frenzied over the report.
Nevertheless, it was found out that the site in itself was fraudulent in nature. There was never an "R.I.P. Bruce Willis" Facebook page created and Twittersphere was not even flooded by comments and questions about the actor's alleged death.
Interestingly, it seems that the report was a reiteration of a six-year-old death hoax that circulated the Web back in 2008.
The old celebrity death hoax claimed that Bruce Willis was found dead on the floor near his bathroom after suffering from a heart attack.
The death hoax even stated that police revealed that it was a housekeeper who discovered Bruce Willis' lifeless body.
Back then, angry fans expressed their hatred to the death hoax on Topix.com.
"I call bullshit. There is nothing on the news, nothing on the net except for the stupid internet hoaxes," one reader named "JustMe" commented.
"there is nothing anywhere saying he is dead.. stop lying," another wrote.
Bruce Willis joins a long list of artists and celebs who became victims of celebrity death hoaxes. Other stars who recently died according to circulating hoaxes include: Morgan Freeman, Blake Lively, Justin Bieber, Will Smith, and Lil Wayne, among others.
