Every year people around the world will turn off their non-essential lights for an hour. This event will begin at 8:30 pm. and will end at 9:30 pm, Saturday, during the participants' local time. Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the WWF World Wide Fund for Nature, that is practiced by different supporters across the planet.

Saturday's event will be the eight year since the Earth Hour has started. Millions of lights will be switched off in homes, offices, buildings, and famous landmark. This event will unite people in protecting the planet from climate change. Earth Hour adheres to the belief that small things done by people to reduce their environmental impact, can go a long way for a better planet.

Different countries already started their countdowns for the upcoming Earth Hour. Pakistan's parliament lights will be turned off during this event to show their support and commitment in taking part on energy conservation around the world. Some countries already organized festivities outlining the event. The United Nations also expressed its support by switching off all its light for three hours at its New York headquarters.

Famous landmarks like the Empire State Building in New York, Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Kremlin and Red Square in Russia, and many more are expected to take part on this event.
