"Noah" the movie, garnered the top spot at No.1 on its first day theater release this March 28, earning $15.2 million in sales. The Darren Aronofsky's bible to film adaptation was the third released Christian inspired movie in the previous weeks, with a star-studded lineup of actors, like Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson.
Originated from The Book of Genesis, following the biblical story of Noah's Ark, God chooses Noah to build an ark that will carry a pair of every living creature on earth, as humanity will meet its near end. Noah played by Russell Crowe, will survive the great flood together with his family. The movie starts with a young Noah together with his father. The king, Tubal-Cain, kills Noah's father, prompting the young boy to run away.
Establishment of the characters were done throughout the beginning of the movie, while other additional characters were not base accordant to the real story of Noah's Ark. The evolving character of Noah was a bit of an issue, some critics notice some drastic alterations throughout the story. The ark was to be built within 8 years, upon completion, a hoard of people came to board the Ark, upon the evil tubal-Cain's orders. At the final part of the film, Tubal-Cain was able to sneak inside the ark.
The film packs a lot of modern CGI graphics, all of the animals, and the destruction of earth was done digitally. Although a noticeable discontent for the computer generated scenes were shared by many critics. A lot of negative opinions surrounded the Watchers, and the fight scenes, calling it a trying hard, over expensive move from the production. The budget of the movie was at $160 million.
But even as negative opinions were given to the movie, Noah, has all the reasons to celebrate on its attainment, overtaking movies in terms of sales, and successfully putting itself on the top spot.
