Chicken nugget recall 2014 - Tyson Foods Inc. is recalling a large number of its chicken nugget products after complaints of finding small pieces of plastic in the nuggets were raised, CNN reported Saturday.

According to CNN, Tyson is recalling 75,320 pounds of its chicken nugget products from the market after receiving a lot of customer complaints, saying that there are small pieces of plastic in the said food.

The chicken nugget recall primarily includes Tyson 5-pound bags of frozen, white chicken nuggets sold at Sam's Club stores all over the country.

The Blaze reports that the recall was because the products "may be contaminated with extraneous material."

"The problem was discovered after the firm received consumer complaints that small pieces of plastic were found in the products," the USDA stated online. "The problem was traced to a product scraper inside a blending machine."

Although the government agency has evaluated the health risk as "low," some oral injuries have been raised by customers.

"The company has received reports of minor oral injury associated with consumption of these products," the agency added. "FSIS has received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness from consumption of these products should contact a healthcare provider."

Aside from the chicken nuggets, the several 20-pound bulk packs of chicken breasts patties were also retrieved.

The manufacturer codes for the 5-pound chicken nuggets bags include "0264SDL0315 through 19" and "0474SDL0311 through 14." On the other hand, the codes for the breast patties include "0264SDL0315 through 19" and "0474SDL0311 through 14."
