Mayweather vs Khan News: Amir Khan Wants Dream Bout Against Floyd After Win Over Luis Collazo

Amir Khan made a good impression in his welterweight debut on Saturday night, scoring a convincing unanimous decision win over Luis Collazo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
And after dispatching Collazo, Khan reiterated his desire to face Floyd Mayweather, who kept his record unblemished after scoring a majority decision win against Marcos Maidana.
"Now, we're going to move on to bigger and better things. I think I should fight Mayweather next. I'm going to leave it to my team, Golden Boy, and Richard Schaefer," Khan said.
Khan was considered as favorite to land a bout against Mayweather before the reigning pound-for-pound king opted to face Maidana after the Argentine scored a huge upset win over then-unbeaten Adrien Broner in December.
Previous reports indicated that the Mayweather vs Khan showdown will eventually happen later this year, but the Briton might have to wait a little bit longer because there are already growing speculations that Mayweather and Maidana will have a rematch later this year.
Khan said, though, that he is still optimistic that Mayweather will give him a shot, confidently saying that he has a better style that could put Mayweather into a lot of trouble.
"I mean, if it happens, it happens," Khan said of the Mayweather bout. "I think people know I fought Maidana and how convincing the win was and we put him down. Maidana is a great champion, a great fighter. But I really believe styles make fights in boxing and the style I have with the speed, explosiveness and movement will give Floyd a lot of problems."
Khan is aware how Maidana gave Mayweather arguably the toughest fight of his illustrious career, but the Bolton, England native insisted that he can also bring something Mayweather has never seen before.
"Speed, I'm quicker than Floyd," Khan said. "I bring explosiveness. I proved that I bring power to the table with the speed. I think we bring the full package. Again, I'm working hard with Virgil (Hunter). I'm still improving."
Khan's punching power was in full display on Saturday night, knocking down Collazo once in the fourth round, and twice in the tenth round en route to a lopsided decision win.
