He is one of the worlds most influential people, known for his heavily critical, rude, nature and sometimes mean-harshly truthful but still funny comments. TV Guide named him #10 in their 2013 list of The 60 Nastiest Villains of All Time he's also near the top list of a poll of Worst Britain's. A regular called-on judge for all the talent-search shows-his snark, and dry humor, his combative nature and disagreements with the other members of the judge panel is the usual entertainment that the viewers like tuning in to. So who would believe or even expect that this renowned music mogul would be taking on a new role- and of all things fatherhood. Can you believe that our favorite say it as it is Briton judge from American Idol and The X factor is a proud father to a little boy, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell!

He named his son after his late father who passed away in 1999, on the same day as the birth of his son, the TV personality wanting to pay tribute to him and to in some way recreate that strong bond he had with his own father. It's the 54-year-old music mogul and 36-year-old Manhattan socialite girlfriend Lauren Silverman's first child together, but Eric is Silverman's second child. Lauren Silverman, was formerly the wife of his friend Andrew Silverman.

Born last Feb. 14, it seems that Mr. Cowell is actually enjoying fatherhood and has taken it in stride despite claiming that he was not "brilliant with babies". He claims he will spare no expense when it comes to his pride and joy-Simon Cowell is now the perfectly dotting daddy that we never imagined he could be.

Can you imagine him and his notoriously critical reputation with his own kid? He'll be hearing a lot of, "I don't mean to be rude, but ...", growing up.
