The members of the Therrell High School in Atlanta faced a terrible, dramatic incident yesterday.   A 17-year-old boy has come up with a deadly weapon, shot five people and is now about to face charges for aggravated assault. According to Atlanta police officer John Chafee, Marcellus Brooks has been immediately arrested and held in the Fulton County Jail to prevent anymore shootings from taking place. The public schools in Atlanta have stated that the victims were classmates of the attacker.

Fortunately, none of the shootings have been considered ''excessively'' dangerous or life-threatening. The injured victims were hospitalized right away and there is information that one of the injured girls suffers an open wound and a locked bullet in one of her legs.

The shooting took place around 4 pm yesterday at the school's yard where the attacker started shooting randomly at passers-by.

The school has been closed the whole day on Tuesday as a result of the shootings, and Atlanta Public Schools has stated that bags cannot be part of the school entourage for the remaning school years due to precaution measurements.

The high school has been closed for several hours although the accident didn't take place in its zone. This announcement was maid by the Atlanta school system officials. All injured people were taked to the local hospital and their condition has been stabilized.

This incident will certainly result in more precuations in high schools all over the US. More gun control measures and child psychological services might be brought into action. The safety and well-being of kids is a major factor that should always be taken into consideration.
