The remains of Kelli Bordeaux, a former US army medic, were discovered this past Wednesday morning in a secluded zone that was located several kilometers away from a gloomy bar in North Carolina - the last place where the young woman was spotted alive.
Nicholas Michael Holbert, 27, the man who has been questioned by detectives and authorities numerous times with the hope that some information regarding Kelli will resurface, will be charged with a first-class murder, according to Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock.
Holbert was in the same area where investigators discovered the remains of the young woman. The place was not far from the bar zone where Horbert once worked, and the shelter that he accommodated.
"With the help of a citizen, we were able to bring this case to a conclusion of locating (Private) Bordeaux," Medlock has announced to reporters.
After Kelli's sudden disappearance in 2012, Holbert and Bordeaux together were noticed together. The woman has been seen alive for the last time when she was about to leave the bar in Fayetteville, N.C., on April 14, 2012.
Bordeaux, was last seen last at the bar around 2 am at the morning of her disappearance. Her husband visited a family in his native Florida at that time while Kelli enjoyed the night with a group of friends. She had left the bar with a man who was later identified as a sex offender. The woman was defined ''missing'' after she didn't show up at work several days later.
The case says much about crime in the US and the numerous occasions during which it may take place. Now the victim's family is hoping for justice and for things to ''fall into place.''
