San Diego in Flames

San Diego has never been in a more dramatic situation, according to local Southern California resident Sophie Payne who has claimed to have never experienced anything like that in her life. Three dozen wildlfires have ''flooded'' the San Diego area, leaving numerous people without homes. The fires have killed and injured people, and have totally destroyed the surrounding areas. Payne's small house has been totally burnt to ashes. The lady has remained only with ruins consisting of several walls and a stone archway.
"This is my dream house, and what can I say," she said while she pointed at what used to be once a three-bedroom, four-bathroom house. "Now it's all gone." The only thing that she has found in the ruins was family keepsakes, preserved in a little safe, but even they were burnt to the edges.
Another family had their house ruined in Carlsbad but luckily, everyone had survived, including their small pet.
"We walked up to this place, and it was like a bomb went off. I can't even explain to you how just horrific it was," Anya Bannasch has explained to CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360".
"I've never seen anything like it. I pray for all the other families too out there that are going through this right now, because I know there's fires everywhere," she has added. Another person, Guy Walker, had to evacuate immediately her house and by Friday, she had to stay as far as possible from it.
"It was an orderly evacuation, but it was reminiscent of something apocalyptic," were Walker's words.
The City of Carlsbad has also reported its first official death caused by fire: "During a hot spot check, firefighters were alerted to a transient encampment in the area of Ambrosia and Calliandra. On checking the area, firefighters located a badly burned body. Further details about the deceased are unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing."
Hopefully the fires will be extinguished and the dramatic situation taken under control soon.
