Nina Dobrev is not dating her ex and 'Vampire Diaries' co-star Ian Somerhalder. However, the two actors may be constantly hooking up without the involvement of serious commitment whatsoever, HollywoodLife has learned.

Yes! It's official Nina Dobrev are not dating "dating" but are actually dating "Friends With Benefits" style. The celebrity couple, who had called it quits early last year, might certainly be an item yet again.

Dobrev, 25, who has admitted that her romance with Somerhalder, 35, had been nothing but rocky from the get-go, is now reportedly giving her ex-boyfriend another chance.

"They go back to each other from time to time for the familiar hookup but his [Ian] wandering eye makes it hard for her to take a relationship seriously," an insider close to the actress told HollywoodLife exclusively.

Well, given that they are still working together on the set of CW's 'Vampire Diaries,' it is not surprising the Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have kept their doors open to each other. However, sources say the 35-year-old actor is still not ready to make commitments, adding that Somerhalder still prefers the single life.

"She likes him more than he does but he wants the bachelor life now that he can take advantage of it. So they are friendly - hook up occasionally but are not dating," the HollywoodLife source added.

Right now, the former couple are reportedly taking small steps on their relationship, but they are enjoying the "friendly" benefits every now and then, according to CelebrityDirtyLaundry.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder began dating each other in September 2011. Their romance was even one of the reasons why their 'Vampire Diaries' fans just can't get enough of them. Sadly, in May 2013, the two revealed that they have already called it quits.

Nevertheless, the ex-couple are said to be enjoying the kind of relationship they are sharing right now since they have managed to keep it private.

According to CelebrityDirtyLaundry, Dobrev and Somerhalder have been pretty cautious on their relationship such that they chose to spend time together at their homes instead of going out in public. And if they do go out, the site claims that they'll be heading somewhere far from eyes of the paparazzi and fans. In fact, the two are reportedly preparing for their upcoming private summer getaway in Europe.
