Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy have long been thought of as an item ever since 'Dancing With The Stars' fans noticed the undeniable spark and chemistry between the two on the dance floor. But now that the competition is over and they already got the Mirrorball Trophy, it seems that it's already time for them to clean up their act, which caused a frenzy amongst fans who really wish that they are sharing a real-life romance. Meryl Davis has got the ball in her court for this one; hence, she didn't sugar-coat anything when she firmly said, "We're not dating!"
Fresh from their DWTS season 18 win, Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy faced the question everyone's dying to ask them when they made a guesting on The Wendy Williams Show. Since the dating rumors between the two have been very intense these past few days, Wendy didn't miss the opportunity to ask the two if they are already boyfriend-girlfriend. And to the disappointment of M&M shippers and fans, the 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist answered, "We're not dating." Of course anyone who has seen their DWTS performances wouldn't believe this, and the same goes for Wendy, who quickly asked if the reason behind this is that Meryl might be seeing someone else. Davis then responded with something that obviously hints an affirmation to the question when she said, "We like to keep the personal lives personal."
Does this mean Meryl Davis has a boyfriend, and it's not Maks Chmerkovskiy? Are the rumors that she and alleged ex-boyfriend Fedor Andreev have gotten back together, true? Well, we don't have answers for both but their recent get-together along with some of their friends may shed enlightenment on the issue.
Celebrating their recent DWTS season 18 victory, Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkosvkiy decided to party with their friends at TAO in New York City on Thursday, and an insider said that the rumored couple were not at all romantic to each other that night.
"In truth, there is no romance there. They're good friends, but nothing more. The hype about it has been fun, but it's not real," the insider told E! News. The site reported that Meryl and Maks were joined by eight others that night, including their co-DWTS cast members, Val Chmerkovskiy and Tony Dovolani.
"The group started with dinner at the skybox table enjoying TAO favorites such as Chilean Sea Bass, Dim Sum and assorted sushi, and headed to TAO Lounge after dinner," the source said on what the dancing gang did that night.
However, contradictory to what the E! News source said, a different insider, this time for Daily Mail, revealed that Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy were very "touchy feely" with each other the entire time they were their partying. The source even said that amid the big crowd, the Ukrainian dancing pro only had eyes for Davis.
Apart from the alleged romantic gestures during the party, Maks Chmerkovskiy's recent tweets also sparked interest among their fans. "Wish I had another 100 weeks of dancing with @meryl_davis," Maks wrote on his Twitter account prior to the DWTS 2014 finale.
On other related news, Maksim Chmerkovskiy has recently expressed his desire to get a permanent seat at the 'Dancing With The Stars' judges' table, Wet Paint reported. It can be noted that Maks said before that he is already feeling the exhaustion of having to compete every season. He even noted that he couldn't believe that Derek Hough was able to continue the gig despite winning for five times already.
When Wendy asked the 34-year-old dancing pro if he is willing to take the spot of 70-year-old Len Goodman, who is exiting the show this season, Chmerkovskiy was quick to respond with "Yeah!"
Additionally, when Wendy noted that Maks was a bit too nice at the time when he became a guest judge for the show, Maks was quick to reply, "I'm not a nice judge." Then co continued it with: "I'm a good judge. I judge the way it's supposed to be. I know this business, I've been in it, I grew up in it. Somebody asked me yesterday why I started dancing and I once again thought about it. I was 4 years old. Who knows why? Spending 30 years in an industry, that you, you know, I think I've done a little bit in it. I know what I'm talking about. Unlike some of the guest judges that we had this season."
