TOKYO Police are investigating the macabre circumstances behind the discovery of the corpse belonging to a Japanese nurse which had been found in a package crate marked with the word "doll".
The shocking discovery was made the previous week when investigators found the marked parcel crate in a rented storage room in Hachioji. Investigators also noted that the 2-meter crate where the corpse had been was marked with the Japanese characters for "doll". According to authorities, the package originated from Osaka and made its way to a storage room in Tokyo. The storage room had been paid for by the victim's credit card along with the parcel package where her body had been found.
The victim, Rika Okada was a 29 year old nurse hailing from Osaka, Japan. Her body was discovered with multiple stab wounds but authorities are still baffled by the absence of defensive injuries on her arms and wrists.
Police have also confirmed that the dead woman's passport had been used by another woman who was allegedly Okada's former elementary schoolmate. The passport was last used for a flight out of Tokyo into Shanghai, China. Police further believe that the unnamed schoolmate lived within vicinity of the storage room with an unidentified Chinese woman.
Before Okada was reported missing, her last message on Facebook showed that she intended to meet up with a friend whom she had not seen for more than ten years.
