Dancing With The Stars Season 18 has concluded in what seemed like a series of dramatic events that escalated quickly to become the perfect love story for its winners Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy. However, now that the competition is over, and team Meryl & Maks already has the mirror ball trophy, this just means that M&M fans will not have the chance to have their weekly dose of their favorite dancing couple satisfying their craving for real and intense dance floor chemistry. Good think Maks has updated his Facebook account recently, now fans know that the dancing on-cam couple has reunited.
From the get-go, many were feeling enamored over the idea that Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkosvkiy could be dating. For one, the two not only radiate charming chemistry whenever they appear on camera, either dancing or doing some DWTS live interview, they also gave fans hope that real life romance between a DWTS star and a pro dancer could be really possible. Many are even obsessed with the idea that Maks and Meryl are already secretly dating.
In Maks latest Facebook update, the DWTS dancing pro and first time winner this season shared a photo of his reunion with his DWTS season 18 partner Meryl Davis. Although nobody knows detailed information on how, why and where the two reunited, Maks Chmerkovskiy shared to fans his joy over his much awaited reunion with Davis. "All is right in the world again! Got my long awaited hug! @meryledavis," he captioned the photo.
Fans will never know if Maks was indeed only referring to a platonic hug. Even CafeMom's Meryl Fischer wrote her disappointment at the thought of Maks and Meryl not dating after all of the romantic antics they displayed on ABC's hit celebrity dancing competition. "Hug? His long awaited hug? Didn't he get anything else? (I mean that in a totally innocent way, of course)," Fischer wrote adding, "Ahhhh! Could they possibly be any cuter together?!? Seriously ... I can't stand it anymore. If you looked at that photo and didn't know their history, wouldn't you think they were a legit couple?"
It can be noted that despite all the dating rumors enveloping Meryl and Maks that really sparked the interest of many, Olympic champ Meryl Davis, who was once romantically linked with her ice dancing partner Charlie White, has slammed all hopes of fans when she dished on the Wendy Williams Show that the two of them are not dating. "We're not dating," Davis told Williams when the former bluntly asked the two if they are in a relationship. The 27-year-old Olympic champ then followed it up with: "We like to keep the personal lives personal."
Of course, there's also that meaningful yet somehow twisted comment of Maks' brother Val Chmerkovskiy on his perception of the real score between Maks and Meryl. Val once told Us Weekly that his brother has this special connection with the figure skater, saying, "[Maks] loves her probably more than I've seen him love another woman." However, Val quipped that "he loves and adores her, but it's like a King Kong type of relationship," leading many to raised their brows.
Meanwhile, in a separate occasion, just fresh from their DWTS win, Maks Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis were spotted in New York City's TAO downtown restaurant and the two seemed pretty sweet. One source even told the press that the 34-year-old dancing pro and Davis were really "sweet and touchy feely." The source even added, "Before dinner they were in a corner talking really close. He kept kissing her on the forehead and was doting on her."
So are Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy really secretly dating? Are they perhaps romantic with each other but want things to remain private for the both of them? We will never know, but for sure every Maks and Meryl shipper would agree to Fischer's statements saying: "Honestly, if they really are nothing more than just close friends, I hope they never tell anybody. I'd rather keep guessing about the status of their relationship than let go of the possibility of them being in love and living happily ever after. It's just too devastating to think otherwise."
