Why 'Jupiter Ascending' Premiere Date Got Pushed Back to Another Year!

'Jupiter Ascending' fans, you've seen the trailer and you already have a clear idea on what this Warner Bros. sci-fi flick is all about, unfortunately you won't be seeing this multi-million movie this year as its premiere and official release date has been pushed back another year. What a bummer for Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis fans who are already craving for the amazing action sequences in store in the film.

In a pretty drastic and by all means dramatic turn of events, Warner Bros. has formally announced that the release date of Lana and Andy Wachowski's sci-fi epic 'Jupiter Ascending' has been pushed back from its original July 18 target release to a Feb 6, 2015 showing instead.

Insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that the multi million budget film - $150 million to be exact - has been pushed back from showing this year to next year because it still needs "more special effects work." Though it was expected to be the studio's biggest summer release, insiders claim that producers and everyone working on the film still feel that more work needs to be done on some parts especially those that involve massive effects.

Now, because 'Jupiter Ascending' has been pushed back, a slight delay on Liam Neeson's action film 'Run All Night' is said to be happening. Neeson's movie was originally slated to open on February 6, but now that Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis' sci-fi is taking that slot a new release date for Neeson's action film is yet to be announced.

Co-financed by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow, 'Jupiter Ascending' is said to be an ambitious movie that stars Mila Kunis as a lowly house cleaner who finds out after a run-in with pointy-ere space warrior played by Channing Tatum that she is actually a galactic royalty.

Critics opine that the sudden move on the film's opening date may have been a repercussion of the difficult summer Warner Bros. is facing with its recently released comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore 'Blended' grossed only less than $30 million to date. Moreover, The Hollywood Reporter said that its other upcoming film, Tom Cruise's sci-fi epic 'Edge of Tomorrow' is also battling from a minimal following in spite of the stellar reviews it received.
